EHS Specialist (Environmental, Health & Safety)

Zeochem is currently seeking an EHS Specialist and if you have experience in the following, you may be a fit! Experience working in a heavy industrial environment; chemical manufacturing preferred Proven ability to create and implement safety programs and initiatives Success working in hands-on environment to promote change SUMMARY The ideal candidate will take a hands-on approach to implement, coordinate, and oversee the EHS (Environmental Health Safety) program activities at the Zeochem LLC (Louisville) site to ensure compliance with external and internal regulations.
This will include manufacturing, administrative, laboratories, and warehousing areas.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES Preserve safety in manufacturing, laboratories, warehouse, offices, and make sure that the workplace is observed and is compliant with all applicable OSHA standards, rules, and regulations and other regulatory agencies.
Establish and put into practice safety rules and procedures to safeguard employees from workplace dangers Responsible for keeping records of safety-related incidents and recommendation/administration of corrective measures Review, modify, and update workplace safety policies, procedures, and training documents Coordinate and attend safety walks and inspections Analyze data to identify areas for EHS improvement Develop, recommend, and monitor corrective and preventive actions Prepare reports to communicate outcomes of EHS activities Manages permits including submittal of permit applications for new and modified equipment, requests for permit changes, and submittal of permit renewal applications Assure ongoing compliance with industry regulatory requirements EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in environmental or safety designated areas, strongly preferred 5
years' experience in HSE role in manufacturing environment; chemical plant strongly preferred Comprehensive understanding of laws and regulations (such as OSHA and EPA) Proven experience managing projects and ability to meet deadlines Strong written, communications, and interpersonal relationship skills Ability to present data and presentations across multiple levels Strong Organization Skills Experience with implementation of corrective action programs Chemical industry related experience desired Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
