Grease Lab Technician

Job Purpose:
The Grease Laboratory Technician conducts routine laboratory QC sample tests on raw materials and finished lubricating greases.
He or she performs other laboratory analyses as directed by and under the supervision of the Senior Grease Chemist.
They ensure quality control of new and existing products, prepares, submits, and maintains reports and records of all sample tests.
Key Responsibilities Operates laboratory/pilot plant equipment and instrumentation safely and in accordance with standard test methods and operating procedures.
Demonstrates the ability to manage multiple instruments and workflows simultaneously to maximize efficiency.
Works safely with hydrocarbon and/or water-based products and potentially hazardous chemicals in a controlled laboratory setting.
Maintains and documents laboratory records and results in compliance with the ISO quality management system.
Maintains a clean and safe laboratory environment while adhering to the Employee handbook and Chemical Hygiene Plan.
Assists with instrument maintenance, calibration, and referencing as needed.
Ability to understand and execute instructions that are written, oral, or via diagram.
Communicates test results manufacturing staff and makes formula modification recommendations when appropriate and in consultation with the Senior Chemist.
Updates job knowledge by participating in training and education opportunities as available.
Provides regular reports to the Laboratory and Plant Management.
Provides analysis of laboratory results to support improved product development or quality.
Applicants are required to have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants must have proficiency in using a computer and basic knowledge of MS Office Software.
Applicants must have proficiency with basic arithmetic, algebra, fractions, and proportions.
Applicants must be able to read and write in the English language.
Applicants must be able to lift at least 25 lbs.
Applicants must be able to stand for extended periods of time as necessary to complete job duties.
What will Set you apart 2-3 years prior experience in a QC laboratory with analytical equipment such as TGA, X-ray Fluorescence, Four Ball Tester, Densitometers, Infrared Spectroscopy, Optical Emission Spectroscopy, Gas Chromatography, pH meters, and Viscometers.
Experience developing and/or scaling up formulations.
Experience or course work in chemistry including associated laboratory courses.
Experience in the petrochemical or lubrication industries.
Experience with hazardous waste / hazardous materials handling and emergency response.
Working Hours A Shift:
Monday - Thursday 5a - 4p Occasional mandatory overtime may be required.
Occasional voluntary overtime may be available.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
